Thanks for posting. there is only one new hull (seems to be the expected 055) in the building dock. That confirms what we expected when we looked at the modules next to the dock at the time of the last launches. It seems there is a pause/gap in surface combatant production beginning.

This article did not provide the original "sohu" source, and most importantly date of that source. All other current claims state that localization has been achieved for years, just count the total number of 052C (most of them), all 052D and 055.

Overall pause or just Dalian shipyard pause.

Remember that Dalian shipyard is still undergoing some throes from the purge of their leadership and their merger (which to me seems more like absorption) with CSCC.

Overall pause, 054A production has ended without an immediate follow-on too.

I would be more interested if the shipyards have a follow through in terms of work, not in terms of succeeding ship class.

One of the main producers of the Type 054A, Hudong Zhonghua, is now completely tied up making Type 075s. I don't see HDZ doing 054B until their run of 075s is over. HDZ is also looking to build the world's largest LNG carrier and such a ship would mean huge boasting credentials for HDZ as a top ranked ship builder.

I like to see what sort of followup work Guandong Huangpu has, as that shipyard apparently might have completed the last Type 056A. So this shipyard has no follow up order for succeeding corvette or frigate, but I may expect the Pakistan 054A/P to start on this shipyard.

Guandong Huangpu is probably still working through a large order of coast guard ships placed several years ago. If I recall correctly, China is in the midst of an unprecedented expansion of the coast guard fleet, the reason being patrols of the South China Sea's is best conducted by a civilian agency. In fact, I think Huangpu has been building more coast guard ships than naval vessels for a while now.
