    Great pic.

Bronco Models has now come out with a 1/350 Scale Type 055 Large Destroyer. I am buying two to escort a large task force I am putting together consistnig of the Liaoning, two Type 071 LPDs, two Type 052D DDGs and two Type 054A FFGs. it will also include one or two twup 093 SSNS...all in 1/350 scale.

I wish someone would build a kit of a 1/350 scale Type 072A LST. I would buy four of them to go with this task force I am creating. A large PLAN Mphibious assault group escorted by a large Carrier Stirke Group.

It will be nice. It's a GREAT price, btu there ar some details (like the lack of a hanger...I cannot show the hanger open...so I will have to cut the doors off and scratch build a hanger inside. My understanding is that the larger helos can fir in there...two of them, so we will see if they do, even though the Z-20 looks nie...the larger helo can carry four torpedoes (as I undrtsand it0 has longer rnge, and two of the would be able to provide continuous prosecution of an enemy sub). Also, the deck/doors for the ships bots do not open up. Oh well...it is stall a GREAT deakl for 40 ucks and free shipping the Bronco is offering on eBay,

Here are some pics of the Bronco Model kit over the next 3-4 pages:

Those are some very nice pics. Is this one:

    an actual photo?

As I say, the Z-20 looks vry good there, but so does the smaller VUAV there too.

With the 112 advannced vertical cells and the 24 cell close in missile launcher, the Type 055 is actually at 134 missiles, which actually is just shore of equaling the Ticonderoga US cruiser 128 cells plus 8 SLMs bringing it to 136 missiles on hand.

Of course the Tico does carry two 130mm (5") guns, and for surface support that's a good thing too.

Anyhow, what I wanted to ask is if "101" is the first Type 055s pennant number?

Anyhow, th Chinese have a real winner in this vessel. Very modern, very capable, and with plenty of fire power and electronic power to be able to be a great command vessel for protecting PLANs very high value vessels like the carriers, LPDs, and ultimately the LHDs or LHAs.

    That's a CGI.

But it is virtually confirmed that 101 is the pennant no. for the lead 055

Good to see you posting Jeff, hope you're well.

Thanks @Bltizo. My Chordoma Cancer is still diagnosed as terminal and they say I should only live a few months...but they have been sayin that for three years.

The tumors are still growing and there are a lot of them. I have had to increase my pain meds...but they are not growing anywhere near the way they expect them to and quite frankly, they do not know why.

I told them I will simply leave it in God's hands. He's in control in any case, and when He calls, I will go Home and I am fine with that. I know who I will be with and a lot about what it will be like...and ultimately all of my loved ones will be there. Until then, I am content to leave it in His hands and do as much good as I can.

I am pretty excited about the model indusrty FINALLY putting out a new 1/350th scale model in the new Bronco Type 055. I have ordered two of them and will beef up my CSG with them. I wish someone would make a 1/350 2nd Chinese carrier...or a Ford...or a Queen Elizabeth...or an Izumo...or a Dokdo...or a Canberra...or a Vikramaditya...or a Zumwalt...or a Flight III Burke...or a Frecnch or Italian 1/350th carrier or Horizon DDG. Any of those I would buy as soon as they came out in 1/350th.

I went to far as to buy an entire group of the Japanese 1/700 scale Izumos (both of them) with an entire 1/700 esrot group and the replenishment vessel because of the import of the news from Japan and because I had forecasted it and very, very few people believed it and I took quite a bit of FLAK from some pretty high level people at the USNI where I have been a member for years.

Anyhow, I put out a video about it on my youtube channel here:

If they built a 1/350th Izumo I would buy two and put the same thing out in 1/350th because I already have the same escorts...all of them in 1/350th except the AOR replenishment ship.

Off topic, but I wonder if there's any model maker that uses a different system for constructing models. Here the ship is basically made of two very large parts. The upper part has pretty much all the superstructure. While cheaper/easier to make, easier to assemble, I just don't see it as fun. Is there a model maker that'd make this kind of a model out of, say a few parts for the lower hull, a few parts for the main deck, a dozen parts for the superstructure and then all the detail parts added on top of those deck/superstructure parts?

This type of configuration is ideal for durability, which is the most important factor.

Models are already fragile as is. Separating the body of the ship into different pieces would make it a nightmare.

But there are some models which have separated superstructure and hull, mostly older ships like WW2 era, Luda and Burke which have distinct superstructure without any RCS reduction edges.

052 and other ships with reduced RCS look better when the hull is set in one piece.
