This has not yet been confirmed. I think we still need to consider the possibility that these are nothing more significant than air intakes for the fore and aft generators; they are certainly at the right locations. Even up till now there is no good evidence of air intakes for the generators anywhere else on the ship.

They sure look like radomes to me. Latest photos show them as well sealed, unlike vent covers you find on the Type 056.

I think those two rectangles do look different to what they did initially at launch, which at the time could've passed for air intakes.

in particular, the rear one looks far flatter and virtually flush with the side of the hull structure than it was before, the photo at #5885 in particular shows this quite well, so I'm not sure if the rear one could possibly be an air intake unless they have yet to finish fitting that area out.

So many little details can be seen in the full-resolution version:
1) The raft launching system.
2) The top of the funnels poke out just a little.
3) The door to the torpedo launchers.
4) The side array covers, with the front cover protruding a bit more than the rear one.
5) Erectable 'railings' just above the raft launcher.
6) Additional sensors on the integrated mast.

Beautiful and sharp picture. But its just annoying to see the image marred by all the words they have to put on the image, like what's the freaking point of doing all that?

I don't think that's good news for that particular ship.

if it gets moved back to the previous pier in fairly short order without any major external changes then it certainly would suggest so.

but if it stays in that dock for a while and comes out looking a bit more externally complete, it is possible that part of its fitting out will be done there.

watermarks so that when the pictures inevitably get reposted elsewhere, they can get their OP credentials

Yes the rear one does look much flatter. It doesn't indicate that a radar has been installed at that location, though. It could just indicate that the original cover was removed and another lighter covering material was placed on during the installation of whatever is inside that area.

Yeah I'm not sure if it is a radar; I've wondered if it could be an EW array instead.

But I do doubt if the rear one in particular could be an air intake at this stage

There are not many options available for air intakes, especially in the back of the ship. And if the generators are GTs instead of diesels, the air intakes will need to be even more obvious (i.e. larger). I just don't see anywhere in that area that intakes could be hiding at this point.
