Ok this is a really interesting photo

We can see the construction stages in each section of the yard

I highlighted it to make it easy

Raw materials, modules and fabrication

All showing the supply chain, then the workshop next to the blue where modules are likely to be built

We can actually see in the red circle modules that are ready to be lifted next like we did with CV-17 construction

Overall from start to finish, the bottle necks etc this is how they are built amazing

We can see the superstructure of the 2 x Type 055 here in red and green

The red one is more complete and probably ready for lifting into the warship the red shows the 2 modules that will be fitted together to make one like in the red circle

Overall with clear enough photos and a well trained eye someone should be able to see if extra materials are there for further Type 055

As opposed to waiting for keel photos or even prior to launch !

We just don't get photos like this often enough amazing

How does the transportation of modules go? stuff circles by blue circle doesnt seem to have a way to be carried by a crane to the green circle. so those are all small pieces that can be carried by a truck cranes, forklifts, etc?

but then, within green circle there are two lines. left one has the large gentry crane, presumably for assembly of smaller parts into the big module. Right side has nothing, so perhaps right side also basically just a depot for very small pieces?

But then again, how does the finished module get transfered from the green circle to the red circle area? There arent any cranes visible that could lift them. there can't be any gentry crane overalp so there's no way for the small gentry crane that covers the green area to transfer anything to the red area where the two huge gentry cranes are.

Dalian launched a 052D via rail so the hull had to be flat. The 052D has probably been moved into a dry dock for bow sonar installation.

Layperson question: why is it done this way? Isn't it more efficient to have everything below the waterline installed before launch and not having to go into dry dock again?
