This does not seem to me to be a likely possibility. We have had a pair of whip antennas and now a radome and 2 chaff/flare launchers tested on either the step platform or the weather deck in their current positions. Yes, they are there for testing purposes, but they are there for testing purposes for the intention of possibility placing them on the 055 specifically, in which case there is no reason not to configure the deck according to what is going to be on the final design. You are not just testing their X & Y positions but also their Z positions.

I do believe that things like the chaff/flare launchers and other more fixed things like the main gun, and forward/aft CIWS are likely to be for testing their positions... but the variable nature of various antennae that have appeared on and off on the mock up at various positions suggests to me that there are some antennae whose purposes are as telemetry or receivers for signals or interactions by other antennae (such as some of the APARs, or possibly the ESM mast) to gather testing information through various stages of the test programme... though I can see how the logic might work the other way.

The evidence against an 02-level weather deck is mounting with each new addition.

This also means that if the mystery module is the 055, it must look like this (or else it is not the 055):

On the other hand, they got rid of this particular hull sloping configuration when they transitioned from 054 to 054A, so I don't know why it would make a comeback with the 055.

We'll see. Clearer pictures of the hull under construction will give us better indication as to just how the hull and weather deck is actually arranged, and soon the mock up won't even be relevant anymore because we'll have the real thing.

No clear, un-edited photo yet. Assuming we can trust the 'interpreted lines' in the below photo, it does seem the side slopes will be larger than usually the case with previous PLAN designs.

You can see that the 'inside' is blurred out, can't you? So no, the inside of a warship is not blurred in anyway in real life.

Wrong question, given the stage of the rumour cycle we're at.

The question should be, is there anything on this photo which rules it out from being a warship?
And the answer would be no.

Some new estimation on the size of the vessel after this photo?

Yeah if we really are looking at the bow instead of the stern I have to say i am surprised


As for size; I don't think the beam estimate changes at ask, and it is still of course too early to make a call on its length, so it didn't tell us that much about size unfortunately..
