The latest on the 055... The last three photos show one possible extrapolation of hull features. Take them with a grain of salt, as Bltizo pointed out in the below post.

Nice pictures, but I kind of doubt the last two outlines will be representative of the real thing... to suggest that the modules we've seen together right now would only constitute the flight deck of the ship would mean the entire ship would may end up being larger than a Kirov battlecruiser.

Still, early days... maybe I'll get proven wrong.

Yep -- the big problem they made is by mistakenly perceiving the decks above the freeboard deck to be at an "angle," thus making them think it is part of an oversized aft helipad, when in reality previous photos of these modules when they were separate would show that the decks above the freeboard deck were quite flat and parallel.

Hmm possible, but it looks like it could be for 052D instead, given the proportion of the bow, and the overall size relative to the deck structure overlying the freeboard deck, as well as the overall slant of the bow freeboard deck relative to the metal "railing".

It also doesn't correspond very well with the suspected 055 bow from last page (post 1932) -- though it's possible that module wasn't for 055, but at the same time that bow module from the last page looks like it probably wasn't for 052D...

I suppose we'll see in coming weeks.

It looks like the drawer made the hanger door too high and too wide. There is a row of containers stacked up 2 high alongside wharf. Given the container standard height of about 10 feet, the hanger door height should be at most 2.5 X the container height, leaving room for overhead gantry winch coming in about 25 feet at most.

I think this thing as it stands would be even larger than a Kirov battlecruiser. Just the hangar itself is already at least 3.5 decks high in this CGI. This is classic epeening in action right there.

Probably more a case of being unaware of how big the current modules already are, and misinterpreting the line of the freeboard deck.

Most of the people on the Chinese boards should know 055 will displace around 12,000 tons, so I can't imagine many would knowingly depict a battlecruiser sized ship deliberately in its stead.
