10kt+ --> Type 055
6kt~7kt --> Type 052C/D + Type 052E?
4kt~5kt --> Type 054A + Type 054B?

I think there will be these three levels of combat vessels to air defense support CVBG or amphibious group.
Oh, I agree...but the Type 054As, like the older OHP FFGs in US Service, will be the lesser of the three.

The main slugger will be the Type 055 supported by the Type 052Ds and probably using some Sino-form of Cooperative engagement.

I totally agreed with you. Actually there is a post from CJDBY by a big shrimp who is believed to be the insider from PLAN. Maybe the post has been discussed, but I will try to translate it and share his vision on PLAN fleet. (Sorry for my broken English :p)

The main combat vessels for PLAN 2025 (updated in 2015)

CV: STOBAR x 2 (Type 001+001A)
CATOBAR x 2 or 3

LHA: 40kt (similar to America-class) x 4 with STOVL

LPD: Type-071 x 6~8

CG: Type-055 x 12~16 with missile defense capability
DDGs: Type-052C/D/E x 32~36
Old DDGs: (052B x 2 + 051C x 2 + 051B x 1 + Sovremennyy-class x 4)
FFGs: Type-054B x 16~20 with enhanced ASW capability + short ranged AA
Type-054/054A x 36
OPVs: Type-056 x 72

Submarine: New SSN x 8
Old SSN x 10
SSBN x 12 (Type-094+ 096?)

New SS with AIP x 12
SS with AIP x 12
Type-039 x 18
other SS x 20
I feel he is extremely optimistic on the size of the fleet considering the fact 2 catobar + 4 LHA in 10 years plus so many other combat vessels which means roughly:

1 Type-055 + 2 Type-052D/E + 2 Type-054B + 1 Type-054A per year at least for the next 10 years...It is great challenge for the shipyard.

Some high-resolution photos of the 055's test apparatus... These appear to be from a months back, judging by the vegetation.

Seems a smart-L style radar might not be included in its electronic suite. First in class might already be in construction, while such a radar has yet to be seen on the rig or on a separate test structure.

Possible. But I also think the aft mast may definitely not be indicative of the actual configuration of the ship, and much of the mock up which has "white paint" is actually not indicative of the configuration and geometry of the actual ship and is mock up exclusive (such as the upper part of the aft mast and the lower half of the overall mock up as a whole).

It also may well be possible that an aft radar is being tested elsewhere at a completely different site.
The persistent rumours of 055's sensor configuration also still tend to include mentions of an aft radar, and all that together makes me think that at present there is a case to be made that the real ship most likely will include an aft radar.

Wow, look at all that green!

I remember the site when it was all brown and dusty just two years ago... following the progress of the overall landscape of the test site has been as interesting as following the mock up itself haha.

Would this make a suitable aft radar on a ddg+ size vessel like 055? Besides the wuhan mast this has been bugging me for some time.

Yes, that particular radar whose designation escapes me, could definitely be envisioned on the 055's aft mast, or a similar radar to it.

The way I see the Wuhan mock up is that certain characteristics on it can be confirmed from pictures given the mock up's accuracy in certain parts of it, but certain parts of it are also not meant to be representative of the real thing and may even lack certain key components that may considered as essential for an RF signal mock up such as an aft radar.
