Type 051 (Luda) Class DDG, News, Pics, info

Captain
Disregard the old dated hull and superstructure of 165, it still has a respectable weapon suite similar to DDG 167, 112 and 113 before they undergo the mid-life refits. It only needs a modern CIWS and upgraded radars and sensors.

Useful for lead-in training for crews of new DDGs being fitted out.

True, even I doubt PLAN would do that (CIWS). This 165 would be more powerful than most frigates/corvettes in SEA anyway

Just as a reminder, this Thread is for the Type 051 Luda class DDGs.

Not the single Type 051B vessel, or the two Type 051C vessels.

Those ships have their own thread...

Please do a search before posting to the incorrect thread.

Post about the Type 051B, Shenzhen, 167, moved to the correct thread.

My apology for not searching the 051B/C thread thoroughly enough.
I did enter < "051B" > using the General Search tool.
Apparently, I missed seeing the bottom result.

Thanks so much for moving my post.

Only when all the Ludas are retired from the fleets, then PLAN would truly and completely moved forward from the bygone era.
