Interesting.

I believe we are starting to see here some of the island featuers of th CATOBAR carrier. The 2nd level sticks more over the flights deck for better pri-fly perhapps...though I would like to see how it looks on the aft side. But does not extend even to the edge on the prort side forward.

And of course the AEW aircraft model is on deck.

From Henri K blog.a bigger clearer view of the island
Each new aircraft carrier has a design optimized for its island, on the one hand to increase the useable area of the bridge, and on the other hand to improve the electromagnetic compatibility and flow. Here is the one for the next Chinese CATOBAR (a few details) ...

Or that the designers are getting some experience and are consequently improving on it.

Keel laid 2017, we will probably see identified module in 2018 and launch in 2019

Sea trials in 2020 and handed to navy in 2021

They then lay keel for CV-19 in 2019 repeat the process and by 2023 that’s 5 years they have the following

CV-16 and 17 STOBAR with 24 aircraft a peice
CV-18 and CV-19 CATOBAR conventional with 36 units each

Total with 4 carriers 120 aircraft

Post 2023 it’s CVN-20 and CVN-21

48 aircraft each

Even if this latest image is quite impressive we need to know that there most likely will be some changes or differences to the real 003 island ... just look at this comparison to the Type 002 mock up vs. the real deal:

Very good prediction, I think it will end up very close to reality ... just a note that CV-17 will have more aircraft than CV-16 ... perhaps 4-6 more. Perhaps the same case for CV-19 vs CV-18
