bad news

looks like this carrier has a problem

If there is a serious problem the ship would be in the dry dock and not in the water. The last series of pictures shows the carrier testing the blast shields.

Right now, there are some perfectly fine RN and RAN ships that are just there guarding the port. What are they doing? Nothing, because they don't have anyone to crew these ships. In a sense, that is what I think is starting to happen on the PLAN. They are building ships all over the place, but the question is how are they going to crew them?

I appreciate your comment, but I can't fully agree with it:
- if Shandong is not exactly of the same type as Liaoning, one can hope that it is more modern, and therefore better able to meet the needs of the PLAN. In this case why continue to arm the Liaoning instead of the Shandong....
- I deduce that the personnel problem (which seems obvious to me) is not the only one.
And so....

The jet blast deflectors are very often and for long periods in the raised position, when the ship has no flying operations. This is not an indication of testing.
