Yes it's normal. Look at how long it took CV-16 to go between its first and second sea trials.
so when are they expecting to hand it over to the military and has initial combat readiness 2019 or 2020?
Still needs some more work for sea trail.

Yes but being delivered to the Navy and achieving IOC are two different things.
My expectation is delivery to PLAN will be early 2019. IOC will be mid to late 2020. FOC (Full operational capability) will be mid to late 2021.
Depends on how fast they can organize and train up a whole new air wing. They may use the airwing from the Liaoning to speed that up, and then train the new one on the Liaoning. In which case they may shave another six months off of things.
We'll see.
yes, lets to see , but unlike Liaoning , they may have already trained another skilled team, especially the J-15 fleet, It takes some time to get used to it .
