In the Russian case, they're out of money. In China's case, the J-20 seems to be intended to utilize metamaterials so that the J-20 is not going to be Raptor-equivalent, especially when it uses EODAS like the F-35.

Russia is out of money to even make progress on R&D, yet they are making bold claims about how the Su-57 is ready for full scale production and the likes. What applies to the F-35 works for the Su-57 in this case, the difference being that LM can afford to throw millions into fixing the problems. But that does not dismiss the fact that Russia is no closer to having even a F-22 esque fighter ready.

As for China I will let this sentence explain :

Which in other words, the J-20 coulda, shoulda and woulda use metamerials, but it does not atm. The only advantage it could claim over the F-22 is the EODAS and IRST, with the IRST only being really useful at close range and the EODAS having the problem of potentially confusing the pilot.

EODAS has the main disadvantage that the coding needed for sensor fusion is incredibly difficult, with American EODAS having pronounced teething problems.

What else can you expect from the company that failed to deliver a (working) spare part inventory system ?

Exactly, there is a reason why 5th Generation aircraft are so "rare" and expensive?

I don't think that's going to "fly" either my friend, Turkey has breached their partnership agreement, so NO there won't be any compensation. So as the opposition in Turkey has reminded, 30,000 aerospace workers jobs are in jeopardy.. it really is very sad...

As well all the partners have had their trust betrayed, and will have to "bail out" the F-35 trust and come up with new suppliers.

a very poor business decision prompted by?? paranoia???
