I don't understand AKhan. They spend 90% of their time talking about diamond based semi-conductors but they have a simple screen made from synthetic diamonds? How is that an achievement? Synthetic diamonds have been made in so many forms by dozens of different companies around the world, mostly in China. Do they have a diamond based semi-conductor?

Also why is the CEO/Founder saying stupid things like diamond screens are harder and therefore tougher and more fracture resistant? This is totally incorrect and the opposite of what is true. These muppets tried to sell their stupid diamond screen (dumb idea btw and proof is in 2 years of silence from all major phone makers) to the top manufacturers and sent a sample to Huawei USA. Being a SUPER brittle material, it fractured in transport or it fractured in Huawei's testing. Huawei humoured these morons by excepting their dumb product for some trial and it failed. Also diamond screens are EASY to make! They've been easy to make for about a decade at the very least. AKhan is silent on actual science and after reviewing 2 year old material from them, it seems like their real product is a functionless screen. NOT an integrated circuit they seem to be implying with their snake oil salesman tactics.

All the proof? This company is still an unknown one after 2 years trying to market their product. No one is using their diamond screen because anyone with half a science background understands it's a dumb idea.

It is not a diamond screen. It is supposedly a diamond coating on top of glass. I would guess it is quite likely a thin CVD diamond coating on top of glass.
If it does use a CVD process it quite likely will not easily scale to large surface areas. Which is likely why they tried to sell it to smartphone manufacturers.

Rather curiously CVD diamond coating technology was actually originally developed in the Soviet Union by Deryagin and Fedoseev in the 1970s.

If by China recession, you mean 6.1% GDP growth, then yes, maybe. Attacking companies and causing economic MAD are signs of weakness and desperation. They are best left to declining old powers; rising stars like China have greater sense of self-preservation and ambition than to be dragged into this pathetic puddle of mud.

No body knows how accurate that 6% number is. Many said that's made up number.
things could be worst than it seems. Always have to calculate with worst scenario in mind.

In real life situation, it won't be holier than thou or lofty inspiration will get it done . Its always tit-for-tat. Chinese strategy of 步 步 为 营
In recent example, Meng got detained in Canada, China in return detained couple canadians, and death penalty for another one.
It has to be that way.
Full of obstacles in front of China, if China doesn't take this type of tit-for-tat defensive posture things can quickly unravel.
Its a survival strategy. It won't be pretty.

Yes from what I could tell from watching and reading some of the available material about AKhan online, it appears all they have is some diamond screen or rather diamond coated screen. It seems so insincere for the founder to be talking about diamond semi-conductors when all that his company has managed to do is produce a screen that has zero managed electron flow. They are probably kicking up a stink now even though this is a 2 year old issue because there's a current fuss about Huawei and all the tech illiterates of the world will hear Huawei and only think China and all the associated confirmation bias that comes with it. This is his strategy to create some PR for his company that has failed to secure a single sell of this product in the 2 years it's been around. Not even to those "nice and fair" companies like Samsung and Apple... ohh could it be that his product is shite? lol

If I understand you correctly the FBI together with some 2 bit company formulated a sting proclaiming Chinese theft of "US secrets" that in reality aren't actually US in origin!

It's like the Edison vs Swan saga, again, a loud mouth self promoting American claims to have invented some thing (the incandescent light bulb) patents it in the US, but it was actually prior art, some one else had already done. (Before the cries of fake news Swan sued Edison and won but the damage was done because of generations of brain washed Americans still believe Edison invented the light bulb!)

Nice to see not a lot's changed in 140 years.

If you just stamp "US Secret" on everything whether its yours or not then claim everyone else is in breach and yell IP theft, that's a one sure way of "winning"!

You can't make this stuff up!

That's precisely their strategy and it's working! Thanks to millions and millions of dullards who are inclined to be intolerant of anyone who isn't "them". Even today, if a Japanese person were to criticise some aspect of the US, these simpletons will immediately shout "Fukushima is poisoning my oceans!" It is all just convenient friendship and convenient civility. The moment life becomes a bit difficult for them, their civility disappears. The only way to counter their brainwashing and propaganda is by becoming aware of it and how it operates. Monumentally difficult task since so many around the world are so brainwashed by the interests of American and western elites.

Come on. The old MSM peddles the accuracy of the 6%. Please. It's true all stats are not too be relied on. We all know the old saying "there's lies, damn lies and there's statistics!" This is certainly so of China. But that's goes for the western nations as well.
The fact the stats are not to relied on comes pretty clear when the current premier of China, Lee. Said as much when he said a while ago, he always uses proxy to verify any numbers coming back from the stars department.
He's fairly happy it's in the ball park figure. And this 6% , 10% or whatever can be born out simply by observations of China's progress by visiting tourists, journalist or whoever have travelled into China and witness the astonishing changes that has happened in the past 30 years. You just can't hide from that. (Compare this development with othe comparable sized economies like India, on the same time period. And the contrast is even more starkling.) This should go someway to prove that the stats are not all made up as some MSM like to portrait.

Those numbers are meaningless , could very well be made up when currently China experiencing employment crisis. A number of different channels are reporting this.

I also checked a number of Taiwanese news, all of them reporting China currently in unemployment crisis.

Those folks believing China with 6 plus % growth marching toward number 1 economy are in fantasy land, have no ideas of what actually happening in China right now.

I telling those folks realistically China currently in economic trouble and they are Not happy! Go figure. It is what it is

The best thing can hope for is China economic trouble will also drag US into recession.

And it's not a "holier than thou" reason, as I'd previously explained. It's about avoiding self-damaging moves while allowing your opponent to commit to them. Of course, it takes careful planning and analysis by professionals with classified knowledge to determine which events to push back against forcefully and which ones to ignore (and which ones to bait for further error on your adversary's side). Replying a mistake with another is returning the favor to an opponent. This balance I trust Beijing to find.

Many "economists" who have built a career on being proven wrong question the official number. While I agree that it is wise to prepare for the worst while hoping for the best, there are limits to that. First of all, we're not planning anything; we're analyzing the data available to the public for our own entertainment. For that purpose, it's general practice to accept the public data as reliable or we would have nothing to work with. Secondly, there are boundaries to what "the worst" entails with regards to normal range of error and questioning official numbers accepted by the IMF, World Bank, and every official economic institution in the world falls outside of those boundaries as far as I'm concerned. If for you, they do not, then I question how you arrive at any conclusion on any topic at all. Maybe it's 6%; maybe 30%; maybe it's already collapsed. Maybe America's economy is already in a recession hidden by the government. Maybe nuclear arsenals are empty cans just for show. Maybe we're all dreaming and life isn't real. Where does it stop?
