With the ZTE, Fujian Jinhua and other recent scandals, the US shot itself badly in the foot as it made every Chinese high tech company desperate to become independent of US made parts and components least they also have their operations crippled by American trade bans.
. . . .
Right now the western MSM is focused on the impact of the trade war on America’s farmers. They should be far more worried about the future prospects of American high tech companies in China.

In particular, Boeing should be rubbing their worry beads. I'm not even talking about the coming competition with the Chinese/Russian C929/C939 passenger planes. With Trump setting a very loud precedent that it is legal for a country to assault individual companies (like ZTE, Huawei, Fujian Jinhua), Boeing should be extremely worried that it will be a casualty.

Boeing predicts China will need more than 7,200 new aircraft worth over $1 trillion in the 20 years through 2036.

But Boeing is smart. They have COMAC making 737 sections.

Boeing's real problem --- and the problem for all Chinese air carriers --- is more of growing competition from another sector: the Maglev train companies.

The sentiment i am getting from US media is nervousness that China slowdown will impact US economy and world economy.
That ain't too bad China misery will drag US and the world economy into recession altogether.

Suffering together is very comradeship, teaching some valuable lesson to US elite conservatives and base MAGA fans alike, has a very Maoism overtones to this.

Like a sick person spreading illness to another person. China economic misery will find companionship with US all together. I finding this quite amusing especially to hardliner like pence, Lighthizer, and Gordon Chang, etc......they all think they could make China suffer without self inflicted wound and consequences. They think US is God all mighty. A few years of economic recession of China, US and the world will teach those knuckleheads some valuable lessons.

I hope no deal at the deadline of March if US insists China structural changes. Let the misery all together begin!

Especially vulnerable when were at the bottom of a minicycle in the end of a 100 year debt cycle.

As you said before, you need to have more faith in the Chinese economy. The US started the misery and it can keep all of it to itself. Just like in 2008, China will still grow at a healthy clip. Maybe a little less than 6.5% if things really get rally rocky, but the US economy is the only one in danger of a recession here.

Back in 2015, the Chinese stock markets were almost as influential in Asia, as the USA markets. As per the Economist below
Given what has happened in the past 3 years, I would expect China to be more influential than the US now.
But we'll have to wait for someone to actually do the analysis for 2018 and publish it.
It's not surprising given that China is the world's largest consumer retail market, and not just an export hub.
