Poland has been bending backwards to please the USA for years now. Remember they even offered to build a base for the USA on their own dime.

They still are, and what more, the US (predictably) is gonna go for it. In fact Trump will be jumping in the air, saying he got a foreign US military base, paid for by host country, all because of him!! And Poles are willing to do that because of the Big, Bad Russian Bear on their doorstep.

US targeting Huawei specifically, a strategy which is airily similar to how they went about trying to undercut Russia. When the Americans forced (more like insider stuff) their Saudi friends to ramp up production of oil. Which inevitably drove down the price of oil in the international market. With Russian natural gas used Ukraine, blocking the flow of supplies through pipeline running via Ukraine to Europe. Even more so, by trying to dictate to Europe, to by American LNG under the guise that they're too dependent on Russian gas.

The point is, the Americans target the strongest point of their competitors, and attack the weakest link in that chain. As it stands, reports predict Huawei to dominate the 5G market. Giving China unparalleled advantage in the technology arena for the next couple of decades. Surpassing the West, and becoming a global leader in the industry. Hence, Huawei finds itself targeted by America. Anyone looking at the whole saga would be saying "free market, my ass!! "

I am confident that China would blunt out this US strategy, effectively and decisively.

Yep, you can make money on $9 dollar soybeans, and as I have been reminding everyone, that's the best of the best, being a farmer is the largest gamble on the planet! you ride the market up, and you ride the market down, its always changing.... this latest boost is due to poor growing conditions in Brazil and Argentina,,,,,,, the lesson here, is you support both of your markets when they are both doing well, and when the crop is poor, you will be the first customer to buy the premium beans!

Starve one of your producers out?? and you will be the one to suffer in the long run! but hey what do I know right? people on SDF who have never shoveled their first shovel full of corn, soybeans, or wheat are the experts on SDF, just ask em?? Sheeesh!

I'm just a dumb farmer paying lots of taxes here in Central Obamastan, what the hell do I know????

If I could move this farm to Tennessee, I would have been gone a long time ago!

We're back to the 1970s where Detroit lost to the Japanese because they didn't care about what consumers wanted. Detroit made cars for themselves and expected customers to buy them. We're seeing that kind of arrogance happening again but on an international scale. That's why it was so important for the US to get in China before any domestic traction happens. No domestic entity would be able to beat US corporate money and US government backing. They would snuff out the competition in order to monopolize like they did domestically in the US a hundred years ago. There would be no Baidu, WeChat, and Alibaba if the US got what it wanted and instead Google, Twitter, and Amazon would reign over China. Every scandal Facebook is facing at home, the US would want Facebook to have that power in China.

I find it interesting that before these scandals rocked US social media companies, because I would read a lot news coming out of China, every time I opened a browser to read the news, the page would be filled articles about China and the vast majority of them would be negative. These days I open a browser for the news and not as many articles on China automatically show up. Is it because of Trump complaining about how these very internet media sites only post negative news on him that they had to change their customization algorithms so it didn't look like that? Could you imagine that kind of power if they dominated China? No wonder why they want access to China. Not only do they want Chinese consumer tastes to be just like theirs so then all the money flows to them, they also want to make Chinese see the world how they do so the Chinese serve only their interests as well.

    Obamastan....

The company i work with sells the damn seeds to these farmers who think that the trade war is good for them.

They cut some research teams because of the uncertainty. Then again the team were also Trumpers and they were racist to me as well. Sucks for them.

What I've learned is that there's not a shred of appreciation for work done by Asian American scientists in the US. Even the peers hate us for making it difficult to get into academia/industry and driving down wages.

Yep, grain and livestock, small family farm, bought with blood, sweat, and tears, and a hell of lot of hard work for nickels on the dollar, LOL!

These days family farms have to have a full time income to support your farm ..love this beautiful black loam, our farm was tiled by my father in law, so it has excellent drainage, has a few hills, a valley, and a spring well. Lots of White Tails that love the corn and soybeans, good to eat too!

We had 10 to 12 inches of snow last night and today, so shortly before dark, I drove out their in our AWD SUV, was dragging the belly pan the whole time I was off-road, and coming across a dry dam, I attempted to climb a small curve around an embankment and got STUCK! all fun, no chain, no 4 wheel drive or tractor, so I had to use my "farm boy" engineering to get unstuck, mainly a tactical 180, but carried out with lots of snow and muck, but total success!

It was a beautiful peaceful drive before that, observing the deer, just hope Momma doesn't see her SUV before I make it to the car wash...
