SEA OF JAPAN (Feb. 3, 2020) Naval Air Crewman (Helicopter) 2nd Class Dillan Hansen, from Casper, Wyoming, and Chief Naval Air Crewman (Helicopter) Kristofer Bonar, from Port Orchard, Washington, embarked aboard the U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) participate in a simulated vertical replenishment aboard an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter from the Golden Falcons of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 12, landing on the flight deck of Blue Ridge. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as U.S. 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific Region. CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. (Jan. 28, 2020) Marines and sailors observe as Marines assigned to Amphibious Vehicle Test Branch (AVTB), Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity, maneuver an amphibious combat vehicle onto the well deck of the amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset (LPD 25) as part of the vehicle’s developmental testing off the shore of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Jan. 28, 2020. The Marines of AVTB are currently testing the Marine Corps’ newest amphibious vehicle, which will replace the current amphibious assault vehicle. The testing consisted of entering and departing a naval vessel to assess and verify how well the ACV can integrate with naval shipping.
