I'm flabbergasted.. Why is the US Navy constantly changing uniforms? This has been ongoing since 1971!!!..Here's the latest on fire-retardant uniforms.

Here's a link to a forum with photos of the USN working uniform changes since the in the 70s & 80s..

NORFOLK (May 29, 2018) Sailors pose in three versions of the two-piece flame resistant organizational clothing variant prototype. U.S. Fleet Forces Command began testing the wear of the prototypes May 14, 2018, due to a strong demand from the fleet. The test period will run through September 2018 to determine if the prototype will support clothing requirements for operational units. This image was manipulated by merging three separate photos into one image with a white background. (U.S. Navy photo illustration by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Stacy M. Atkins Ricks/Released)

In another forum I wrote this in regards to the proposed uniforms;

"Well I kinda like the uniform on the right it vaguely resembles the RN working uniform. Which I like very much.

As I stated the USN has been in a flex state over ALL it's uniforms since 1971.....:confused:

p.s...I like the blue coveralls the USN issued for shipboard use back in the late 90s until ???."

NEW USN fire retardant coveralls...rolled out in 2015. I do not know what happened to these.

FEB 2015 Operations Specialist 2nd Class Martin Vories compares the new flame resistant variant (FRV) coverall with standard coveralls worn by Aviation Machinist's Mate 2nd Class Mark Birzer. When worn with correct battle dress, the FRV will provide sailors with increased levels of protection against a variety of flame and flash fire hazards associated with shipboard operating conditions.
