Biggest issue I ever had with the Command ships there...and it is staring right at you in that ry dock.

What is it?

One prop and one rudder. They take any kind of serious hit there and they are dead in the water.

That';s why most all US ships have at least two props and two rudders.

That aft end is modeled after the Iow Jim class LPH and the US Nay quickly realized for future LH. LHAs, LHDs, etc to have two of each. The carriers of course have four.

These command ships are loadedd with very sophisticated electrnics and communications equipment o all types...I hope we get about building a replacement class of two vessels and base them on perhaps the San Antonio class. That is a good hull which is already going to provide the LPDs they were built for...but also the LSDs to replace the Whibey Isalnd nd others. Seems they could design a very strong LCC on them too.

Exactly.. IF & when the USN decides to scrap these ships the best bet for a command ship is an Wasp class LHD. None of the Tarawa's are held in reserve.
