He is now at his first command...USS Nimitz (CVN 68) in Bremerton WA. Coincidentally Nimitz was the last ship I served aboard in 1991 just before my retirement from the USN.

"Mr. CHOPPER! READY on those .50s, prepare to repel boarders"! oh and I saw those turbines with 7 bladed propellers in front of that Hornet,, kina reminded be of the Grumman F7F Tigercat from WWII,,, seems like I saw some proposals similar to that for close air support from the 1950's...

GOSH, I am SO GLAD you're back, I just LOVE YOU MAN! YOU ARE OUR LEGACY HERE BD, really, we do love you Pappy! and so nice to see you and Lynette and your Grandson, that is just precious... I know you know you are Blessed! but Jesus loves you BD,,, I wish I were a 1/3 the man of God you are, not to mention a sailor!

I know it sounds corny, but you're a 110% hero to me, and I'm not alone, we DO have to get together and take our Ladies out to eat this summer, somehow, we have too...Hey do pray for my girls Mollie and Baxie,,, Mollie had a tough time her first semester at College, Baxie is in nursing school and doing well, just pray for all my kids and wifey,,, I'll keep praying for you too, love these pictures by the way!

Nope...This is what I did..

I served with the USN from August 1971 until August 1991. I joined the USN in Cincinnati Ohio. I went to Boot camp at Great Lakes IL(Chicago)

After training at NATTC Jacksonville and Memphis TN. I served during my first enlistment on the following ships;
USS John F Kennedy(72-73)....Norfolk VA
USS Midway(73-74)....Yokosuka Japan
USS Hancock(74-75).....Alameda CA

I was then station at NAS Cubi PT in the Republic of the Philippines.(75-77)

Next I was with three squadrons at NAS North Island in San Diego;
HSL-31(77-80)
VS-33(81-82)
HC-11(83-85)

While with VS-33 in 1981 we were deployed on the USS America (CV 66) with CVW-11 from mid January to November of that year..in the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Indian Ocean.

After HC-11 I was stationed at NAF Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.(85-86)

From 1986-1991 I was with NAS Miramar AIMD San Diego. During my last year at Miramar I was assigned to AIMD SEAOPDET and was deployed on the USS Nimitz from January 1991 to July 1991 to the Pacific, Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf.

I was an enlisted man. I spent 11 years as an Aviation Ordnanceman and 9 years as an Aircrew survival equipment man.
