PACIFIC OCEAN (July 3, 2017) A C-2A Greyhound assigned to the "Providers" of Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VRC) 30 flies over the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The Greyhound held the cremains of Julius H. Frey and wife, Jerry A. Frey. The cremains are scheduled for a burial-at-sea aboard Reagan July 15. Julius was a World War II veteran who fought in the Battle of Coral Sea on the aircraft carrier USS Lexington (CV 2). Ronald Reagan is the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, which is on patrol in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. USS Fitzgerald Set to Enter Dry Dock Later This Month, Patch Work Ongoing to Fix Hull Breach

THE PENTAGON — The guided-missile destroyer that was struck by a container ship off of Japan last month is set to enter dry dock in Yokosuka later this month, and work to patch the massive hole in the side of the hull is ongoing, a U.S. 7th Fleet spokesman told USNI News on Wednesday.

Here's the type of air ops that have been done on the USS Ford so far. Basically quite a few helos...but they have run some approaches and close fly overs with Super Hornets...which means they have been testing the approach radars, sensors, equipment, and probably the basic landing guidance.

Soon, we will see them set down on deck and I am excited about when that day comes...the sooner the better:

7th Fleet receice a new a 9th AB this year the Milius from San Diego which receive 2 new ! and the 3th new for Everett

USS Sterett Deployment Extended
SAN DIEGO (NNS) -- U.S. Pacific Fleet ordered the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104) to extend the previously scheduled deployment in the Western-Pacific until the end of August.

The reduced availability of destroyers in the region after the damage to USS Fitzgerald necessitated the extension of Sterett in order to provide responsive capability and presence in the region.
