Trust me on this.. an SSN deployed with Truman's Strike Group.

Especially for CVN it is they who may inspect the hull not only for explosives ofc, a team aboard ?

All carriers that deploy have a EOD team aboard. They do inspect the hull in every port or as need be. And any sort of diving that needs to be done they do that also.

Years ago the EOD team consisted to three sailors. These days I'm not sure how many deploy in a team.

NORFOLK

Also departing from Norfolk Naval Station on Monday as part of the Truman carrier strike group: The guided missile cruiser Anzio and guided missile destroyers Bulkeley, Gravely and Gonzalez.

The guided missile destroyer Ramage also will leave Norfolk on Monday on an independent eight-month deployment in support of ballistic missile defense in the Persian Gulf.

I'm now suddenly unable to quote other post...:(

That Ticonderoga can do a few things that Arliegh Burke cannot.
The design mission of the Ticonderoga is more suited to both to attack and defend against attacks at longer range than the Arleigh Burke class destroyer.
