Theoretical Sino-American joint operation

Well we've heard enough of US vs PRC all the time, why don't we discuss a theoretical scenario where the might of US war machine meets the beast of the East. Assume they're fighting a common enemy and they decided to work together or fight in 2 fronts, what do you expect we will be seeing? USMC storming the beaches with PLA landing vehicles roaring from the back? Chinese artillery shaking the lands with artillery shells? Or current favorite, J-20 working with F-22? Chinese attack subs with American surface combatant supports? What types of conflicts or problems do you think both sides will run into, in terms of both operational and hardware?

What about if the crisis in Egypt got seriously out of hand that the US asked PRC to assist them in bringing order to the country under the approval of the UN.Would this be a simple matter of overwhelming the Egyptian forces to to gain initial security and then dealing with the resulting conditions.Bear in mind they will have to keep civilian casualties to an absolute minimum. It's not the scenario you request but an interesting one to me and and also quite possible if something like heavy civilian killings and torture were to outbreak and/or the Suez canal got closed down by Mubarak. It would be a better conflict as a pilot scheme for the 2 militaries to begin working with each other in a real live situation.
If i'm taking you in the wrong direction ,then just ignore.

i was sort of thinking of a massive operation, but this planet has no place for any conflict of that scale anymore. i'd go so far to say it had went extinct ever since cold war or, ww2 for that matter. contemporary world had shown that the stakes were already way too high for any countries to engage in a war of that scale now -- the reconstructions were simply too great for even any sort of money to be invested in that manner. but for theoretical purposes, we can use your scenario

The closest possible example of such an operation would be something happening in central Asia, through the framework of the SCO that would also involve Russian participation, in the event that a friendly government in that region is deposed by what all parties universally view as terrorists who threaten the interests of all global parties.

Besides that the Chinese already cooperate with America in many warzones, not directly as a military force but as an economic force that aids in reconstruction of local economies through its private businesses. Some of the most powerful foreign firms currently operating in Iraq and Afghanistan are Chinese, to my knowledge anyway.

If Qadhafi goes crazy enough, the US and China might find themselves in a mutual interest situation. Qadhafi has made some ugly comments of China in Africa.

Qadhafi is a mental case in my opinion.

But that's not the subject of this thread. Before any Theoretical Sino-American joint operation takes place training must first take place. Perhaps some sort of humanitarian relief effort training or an actual relief could be accomplished today if need be. That would be a start.

The *real* question is, what kind of problem would be so big that it would require China and the US to work together?

I'm betting "Alien Invasion". (And I'm not talking about those Mexicans!)

Well I've read that a Chinese oil company's facilities in Libya has been attacked. It wasn't clear who did the attack or they were looters. I thought that was weird to hear China had 30,000 people in Libya when Qadhafi has already made some ugly comments about China in Africa in general. I don't know how many people other countries have in Libya but that's going to be a huge situation if Qadhafi starts attacking foreigners.

If in some country both the US and China want to intervene to rescue their citizens the easiest cooperation would be to divide the area of operation in relation to the resources locally available to both, rescue the citizens of both, and others, by the party responsible for that area, and exchange enough officers for adequate coordination. That can be arranged within a day.
But each want to have some certainty that the other will not exploit such an agreement for political gain.
