Terrorism against Chinese targets

The reason "terrorists" in terms like Al Qaeda, ISIL goes after the west (west means Americans and friends) because the West have real military power and still is the power that is meddling and have influencing in the middle east.

For China, it's the radicalised Uighurs that is a threat. China has no beef with Sunni Wahhabist or ISIL or the Turks or Hezbollah or Shiites and is not thru legacy of whatever Sykes Picot deal that divides Turkish Caliphate or cause any problem there. That's why those "terrorists" didn't bother with China.

Only those touristy terrorist like the radicalised Uighurs that visit middle east, to join the fight, either with the ISIL, the Nusra, the Al Qaedas group for training purposes and cannon fodders driving SVIEB that is a threat with their training to come back to China to practice what they have learn over there.

I was putting it in the context of how the West sees it not how ISIS, Al Qaeda, or any Islamic radicals see it. My arguments have always been for the Chinese not to fall into the traps.

It was recently revealed that a group of 40+ terrorists had arrived in Shandong province some time before the 2008 Beijing Olympics intending on causing destruction and mayhem for the occasion. They were thwarted by a squadron of 40 PAP unit after a six hour wait on the 19th of July.

They were commended today by Xi and Premier Li.

A radicalized anything is a threat, whether it be a Sunni, Uyghur, Wahhabi, or a Christian. These folks care less about geopolitics income & ideology, and can only be effectively dealt with by a good pair of high-flying jets armed with targeting pods.

Those MSS agents are doing their job well. Certainly in cooperation with the CIA in sharing intelligence in regards to terrorism activities that spills from the Middle East into Central Asia and so on. This happens because of George W. Bush's war on terrorism because of 9/11. I wish the Obama administration could have kept this cooperation going instead of provoking China in the SCS for political cheap points.

I have serious doubts about how much China got out of those cooperative effects TBH.

During their war in Afghanistan, American forces rounded up a fair number of Chinese Uighur (I remember at the time some of the press tried to spin that as China supporting the terrorists), who were not there for a package holiday.

The US then went to inordinate lengths to avoid sending them back to China to fast justice and instead bent over backwards to relocate them around the world after determining that they were no threat to the US (no mention of anyone else).

Even then elements within the US were playing "good terrorist, bad terrorist", so I expect that China got very little of value from the American intelligence agencies.

One could also probably argue that Chinese intelligence probably didn't have a great deal of worth to the Americans either, since their resources and efforts would have overwhelmingly been directed inwards, to looking for dangerous elements inside of China's own boarders, rather than looking to hit terrorists and allies abroad.

Lets face it, if China was to adopt a counter terrorism policy in line with most western nations, a great many of the people the western media love to bring out to smear China and excuse terrorist atrocities inside China would have had fatal 'unfortunate accidents' long before now.

China does get help and cooperation from the neighbouring ''stans''. Those intelligence are vital because these Uighur terrorists operate and move about between those areas and China.
