I am wondering if the Z-20ASW will try the same thing as:

What I understood is that the MH-60R basically combine most the capability of SH-60B (equiped with surface search radar, Magnetic Anomaly Detector, and sonobuoy, ASuW biased) and SH60F (dipping sonar and sonobuoy, ASW biased) into one platform, only without the MAD suite. But the above article suggests that LM is working on integrating the MAD back on the MH-60R, making it truly contain all the capabilities of both SH-60B and SH-60F.

Does this mean that the PLAN will also looking for getting a miniature sized MAD on future Z-20ASW. This will give it:
- Surface Search Radar
- Sonobuoy
- Dipping Sonar
- Magnetic Anomaly Detector (which the current Z-20 don't have),
among other equipment.

Do you guys think this is feasible?

I would say that jack of all trade is nice looking on paper but a lot of times less potent than having the systems separately on different plateforms ...

Well, if what you're saying is true, why did the USN went from the SH-60B/SH-60F division-of-labor duo to MH-60R jack-of-all-trade single platform?

It depend how much you can carry on one ship.... It's like a multirole fighter vs one dedicated bomber and one air-superiority fighter. He will do both but less effectively.

Pushing it into the hangar. You get a tiny glimpse into the interior.
