I must say I'm a little disappointed the helicopter looks near identical to the blackhawk. There were rumours there'd be NH90 influence on Z-20, but chances are this plane will just end being sino-hawk.

There could be worse helicopter designs to clone of course, but it would be a shame if they didn't end up at least changing up the airframe a little from the classic.

That's a longish looking helicopter. Not long as in the actual length, but long as in its shape like that of a fixed wing aircraft.

Looks almost like a exact copy of a Blackhawk

Anyhow every exciting news wondering about the Powerplant

the introduction of Z-20,could replace Z-9 ASW helos, giving Z-20 bigger lift capability over the lighter Z-9.the potential will be enourmous.

To be honest Z9 is actually a really good helicopter just not for China and it's operational requirements

Looks like China has mastered turboshafts by the number of helos we are seeing

speculate that China may be building a new gen. helos for LHD,something similiar to CH-53 or NH-90 type helos.

No it's not.
I made some mods to the photo.

Note the Tail wheel.

It's in the wrong place. it's way out there like what you see on a AH64 or a A129 attack helicopter. It's even far out when compared to a Z10 Also there is no Tail stabilizer.

it's hard to tell with all those wrappings but thus far yes.

Pretty sure the tail stabilizer has just been removed for the transit.

But the tail wheel is a noted difference.

I hope they've expanded the UH-60s rather smallish cabin. (for modern utility helicopter standards).

Well it was designed in the 1970's.
To be honest I like to call it a light medium utility because when you compare it to say a CH46 which is also considered medium lift. Blackhawk comes up short.

We have to see what is under those wrappings before we talk clone.
I mentioned the Tail wheel I think the nose looks wrong too and something about the shape of that tail fin is not sitting right for Blackhawk to. I am betting it will have more in common with Z15 then Blackhawk.
