Weyers flotten taschenbuch 2005/2007 has arrived

DAMN THAT I HAVENT GOT A SCANNER ...anyway I just bougth it (it cost half of my monthly student benefit )
The book is basicly a bocket size Janes all the fighting ships, whit comprehensive data off all the worlds naval forces.
From china section, there was first time on western source (that has crossed my mind) linedrawnings of all the new 052B/Cs and New 956EMs, replenishment ships, LST&LCUs, catamaran FACs and pics of Yuan class submarines...It also had great linedrawning of Vikramandataya, ADS, P17...as well as Korean LHX, japanese DDH, new USN 300-m eek LHA, Yugoslavian PO-91 class LSM (maybe not important but surely gave kicks to me)

Also it had first printed data of HQ-9 that i have found:

Lenght:6.8m
Diameter:0.47 m
Weight:1300 kg
Speed: mach 4.5
Range:120 nautical miles

As you see these datas differences from Rif-M considereply, so quess i was wrong when i stated that that the HQ-9 was just a copy of S-300 family...

But most, most important was that under china, was mentined, not only building in Dalia another pair of 054As but and a DH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And whit no doupt what so ever what the prefix, 'DH' means, a destroyer (whit) helicopters.

120 nautical miles? That even surprises me. I was pretty sure the range was 120 KM. I heard that China stole the guidance of PAC-2 or something like that. All I remember about HQ-9 is that it got help from both Russian and American technology.

As for building a destroyer with helicopter, I guess that means China is finally building a dedicated ASW destroyer now?

so about the drwings of the 956ems, what did they look like? did they appear to have new sensors? some stealth features? kashtans? i want to know how they live up to internet claims.

well as waiting possiple scan...They looked like normal sovs, exept with no aft gun mount, Kahstans in place of the after CIWS, (and no frontal units whatsoever), The moskit launchers lacks the railings, (it could be artist libertyes or something...) and Seems like there is fixed hangar and some sort of small radome atop of it (satelite link sytem?) In place of the after turret, the platform of after Gadfly launcher is extende bit after, but seems like nothing is fitted there

still gadfly's? thats rather dissapointing. i was hoping the chinese would want a better sam than that. btw, did the book have any picws of the insides of any plan ships?

well the launcher is same no matter is it for the newere missile or not (thougth the text mentions presicely SA-N-7)...And no, no inside pics of any nations ships (doesent actually fit in when you have to give the clearest image of one navy in shortest space possiple...

The new Sovs appears to have an extend flight deck too.

Contrary to Dongfeng, the book states that the old Jianghu Frigates hold only 4 ASM each.

But look at the 62m LC, not bad, but seems a bit tall.
