Didn't know Russia is so fragile like a tinpot African dictatorship. That's like Chinese nationalists saying that if Taiwan isn't retaken, then China will be balkanized by West! Okay... talk about exaggeration
I agree it is a exaggeration, but Russia losing Crimea would be a strategic loss of gigantic proportions (maybe even more than Taiwan for China)

Crimea is Russia before Miami was USA

The USSR no longer exists, now you will tell me that NATO is defending an administrative decision of the USSR

The brutal reality is that the West has brought chaos and destruction to the heart of Russia three times three: Napoleon, Adolf and now NATO

The reality is that Adolf lost his war against Communism; but Washington continued the Adolf's war against Communism: Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Camboya, Indonesia, Brasil ...

And this is its last chapter; the point of maximum extension of the West Empire

In the last twenty years you have continued to spread chaos and terror and have sent some 3 million people to hell, and what you have are adolescent giggles

This is the West Empire

They attack and attack, invade and bomb, overthrow governments, create chaos and destruction everywhere, and ... teenage giggles

You are a gang of gangsters with a money printing machine, as long as the dollar holds out ... When the "Game over, insert Coin" comes the laughter of this aching world will be heard on the planet mars

Therefore, Vladivostok is rightful Chinese territory, return to us Outer Manchuria!

If the Russian government by any chance started hosting US/NATO missiles in Vladivostok the Chinese will definitely start to claim it back whatever the population there identifies as.

They might wish it from their bottom of their hearts, but it aint gonna happen. One of the main reasons being that a requirement is not having any pending conflicts with anyone.

Then there is the whole thing were a lot of the NATO members, particularly in Western Europe, might talk a lot about support but they don't really want Ukraine to be member of anything.

Not unlike the whole Turkey-EU debacle.
Besides the Ukraine, who else was driving for her to be part of the E.U.

Most of the population in Crimea is Russian and Sevastopol had a Russian military base in it.
If Ukraine had joined NATO then Russia had the prospect of getting blockaded in the Azov Sea which is where most of Russia's grain trade happens. Grain is brought by barge from the Russian canal system into ports in the Black Sea, back when Russia imported food a lot of the trade was done in those same ports and used the same transport infrastructure. The ports in the Black Sea are Russia's only warm water ports.

Russia had been making preparations to leave the base at Sevastopol eventually by moving the fleet to a Russian port on the east of the Black Sea. The cost of the naval base lease was really high. But having a neutral Sevastopol would have been one thing, quite another if it was turned into a NATO sea base, that was unacceptable.

@gelgoog especially the blood and tears the Russian spend in defending Sevastopol and Crimea in general. Letting it fall to enemy hands is an act of sacrilegious.
