Windscloud - we've seen satellite imagery of hull sections going into the Eastern final assembly hall so something is definitely getting built in there now. We just don't know what - but the smart money is on 1st 09V.

And I already read the Popular Science's article on the new building for sub production in Huludao, Bohai Sea for how many years....and later Sutton's article on another nearby expansion... but so far no new production is going on after so many years... no known pic... perhaps China is just playing some dirty trick of psy-war to appear stronger than it's actually by erecting the new empty building... a deceiving act for posturing purpose.... who knows about this underground... errgh, I mean underwater stuffs, tho hard to apply 'seeing is believing'.

Edit: yes, some sat pics presented by Sutton to anyone's guess which type it's

There was a report of a submarine propeller going into the construction hall.

Actually it says **recent** Virginias take 3 years from lay down to **commissioning**

If you look to the past, Virginia SSNs could take 10-12 months from lay down to launch.

Are you suggesting that Chinese subs have to be comparable to American subs as if they were fighter planes headed for a one-on-one duel?
No. Im suggesting that chinese nuclear sub tech still cant produce a SSN comparable to the yasen/seawolf/virginia classes. Unless we get a big surprise from type 095.

As for China being unable to match US and Russia on technical level, that is soon going to be in the past as well.
Do you have any ideia of what the noise level of type 095 will be? perhabs you are right, but what makes you say that?

Simple. Noise depends on only 2 things:

1. Vibrational noise which can be mitigated by higher precision components and dampening. Component quality depends on machine tool quality, dampening depends on size of dampeners. 093 has slightly larger diameter as LA class and state of the art machine tools back in the 80s and early 90s are obsolete today.

2. Hydrodynamic noise which is mitigated by design. Design tools used in the 80s and early 90s are basically toy models today.

As long as you have some idea of how to build a sub, these are the ways to improve.

10 lanes which could hold 2 SSNs each. And each SSN could take as little as 1 year to assemble.
That comes to a theoretical maximum of 20 SSNs per year, which is far in excess of any conceivable level of Chinese SSN/SSBN production.

submarine module need move in and move out when finished.
each lanes could not hold 2 SSNs.

The rule of thumb (from the US) I've read is that it is cheapest to build at the module/hull fabrication stage
But if the same work has to be performed in an assembly hall, it costs 3x as much
And once the ship has been launched, that work costs 9x as much

So I stand by the previous assessment.

That is an interesting part in bold letters. What are the cost factors?

Also something to note, larger nuclear submarines transmit less internal sound than a smaller sub of the same tech base,
