Don't compare our answers.

What I wrote here, was that there have been strong indications that 09V is intended to be competitive with the world's leading SSN classes, however wanting to confidently claim the extent of that competitiveness is not something we can do.

What you are suggesting here, is outright saying you do not believe that 09V can be competitive at all in general with the world's leading SSN classes.

And what fairandunbiased wrote here, is that the current main domains needed to mitigate noise control specifically in SSNs are a matter of technological advancement in established areas of industry for China.

Out of all of our three posts -- yours is the only one that outright suggests China cannot build or develop a competitive SSN.
Whereas what I wrote was that based on past rumours and indicators it seems like they believe they can develop a competitive SSN in the form of 09V, but the exact extent of competitiveness in various domains is not something we can state.
Whereas for fairandunbiased, he is saying that the specific methods to mitigate noise in submarines is well understood and is merely a matter of technological advancement in terms of machinery and hydrodynamic modelling.
Thanks. Why use Roman numeral V, instead of 5 eg 095?

Thanks. But now it seems apart from nuclear subs, all other naval vessels, including spacecraft [Tianzhou - 12 and so on] use ordinary numerals.
09 is the code of nuclear subs, roman numerals refer to block. In chinese forum ordinary numeral is more common, in this topic, maybe to avoide confusing of block 5 of 09 and ninety five

I've been seeing posts about how Huludao can supposedly build like 10 nuke subs at once but has there been any indication there will be a mass production starting?

Iinm the only thing we've seen is 1 095 under production right?

Also, how good are China's diesel subs compared to the German/French/Japanese ones? Feels like they should be investing more in diesels given China is surrounded by littoral seas where range doesn't matter that much

I think you have been in this forum long enough to remember that couple month ago HI Sutton posted an image of sub building block at new facility

The fact they built a massive new production hall is pretty solid indication of their intentions.

Received opinion here is that the halls can accommodate up to 20 SSN at a time between them, with the larger hall being able to take up to 3 SSBNs in place of up to 12 SSNs. But yes, so far we've only seen hull sections for 1 SSN of unknown type (but probably 09V) going in.
