The 091 and 092 retain Arabic numerals. It's only from 09III on that the designation system switched to roman numerals. Other than that, I quite like the graphic.
Regardless 1,2 or I, II, the type is 09. Using Arabic numerals after 09 would be confused to type 091 and 092 which was never PLAN's designation. Besides, we have never seen official publication using either numerals. 091 or 09II are all outsiders usage. Therefor, for our convenience only.

As of the switching, what is the story of it? when was it changed? Can you elaborate? I am just curious.

P.S. here is an article in Chinese (if you read) which is quoting a report from PLA daily

The reason of "type" 09 was because the nuclear sub program was the "number 9 (critical) program", so all nuclear subs are "type" 09.

For simple house window, the combination of different glasses can create different sound reduction for every freqency.

Example the 4mm/4mm window is more effective to dump the low frequency than the 8mm/6mm ( high frequency doesn't an issue ,that is easy as visible )

And the window is extremely simple compared to a very complicated structure like a submarine.

Year seems right, but we literally have zero knowledge on the noise level of all of these subs

I wonder about something: Is it possible that submarines make more noise in peacetime (when they're not on an intelligence gathering mission) to obfuscate their true wartime stealth? Like how stealth fighters use Luneberg lenses to amplify their RCS.
Yes.

And also that submarines are not just different in noise levels per class, or subclass, but even individually among sisters, and even if the submarine goes into a refit.

I was looking at that Jive dudes latest video and he isn't a missile man that's for sure. If you look at comment section he holds his guns and claims Trident is an liquid fueled missile and so are all modern SLBMs according to him!

I know many servicemen don't know much about other military branches in their own armies but surely submariner would know more about SLBMs or is he just too stubborn to admit his mistake?

I am taking this picture from the Yuan thread with regards to the Kilo cutaway. This is where I disagree that the hump on the 09IIIA or B might be for the TAS even if these subs definitely has a TAS about the same time the curved hump appeared. Having A and B both appear at the same time suggests causality but simultaneous appearance isn't proof of causality.

You can see the spindle for the TAS on the Kilo at the upper corner of the cutaway. It does not require a hump and furthermore, its positioned right where the back starts to angle more downwards.
