It is already out, I think. However, it will most likely delay the schedule for months, if not for a year.
There were two fires in our flight school. I know the work involved in the renovation work until all the toxic substances are out of the building and out of the aircraft. I guess a couple of months.

It would be much better and renovation work would be much faster if not too much of the interior was installed.

First of all, let me say Goddamnit, this is some Indian level shit.
Someone is going to get executed, or at least life in prison.
If the fire was due to disgruntled employee sabotage or someone sneaking a cigarette then I should hope so. If it's an engineering failure (ie. fire started when someone simply turned on a system), then it could require significant redesign.

As someone who doesn't know about ships, I think a few months is reasonable, but how did you come to those numbers?

Apparently it was put out fairly quickly, and the thick colour of the smoke should theoretically suggest incomplete combustion, and we can also see smoke stains coming from the aft well deck from the picture of the aft of the ship when the fire was put out, suggesting the fire was definitely at least within the well deck, we don't know where it started however.

Basically it's a question of whether there was any structural damage and/or also if there was any damage to key parts of the ship (like powerplant) which would require cutting a hole in the ship which would be time consuming.

If either of those two were true then we'd probably expect it to go into drydock within the next couple of months to get that stuff sorted out. If the ship doesn't go back into drydock over the next couple of months then I think chances are the damage would probably be relatively minor with associated relatively small delay

I think at first we should wait and examine what's the reason instead of acting like most politicians by falling into some mindless blind action!

That is a mess indeed, but to call out for draconian action regardless the reasons were known is IMO a bit too early.

Yeah, I mean the risk of accidents can be reduced but it's never zero, and the relatively low incidence of these kind of accidents with Chinese shipyards given the amount of work they have isn't something to immediately consider malevolent causes imo.

Sometimes accidents happen.

Looks electrical to me by the dark black smoke

locals would know by the smell

definitely a delay is caused

the dry dock is empty and there is space for refitting if LHD needs extensive repairs

I mean, yeah, if this were some cargo ship or something insignificant then a flippant "shit happens" is appropriate. But this is a crucial warship so I think our anger is justified.
