Hope it doesn’t become another white elephant and sail around with no rotary wing

China need to establish a proper naval aviation equipped with proper helicopters and modern ones not those stupid vintage 1960s Z8 with the big thick black nose cones

Looks like they're getting ready to launch the LPD. Does this shipyard launch their ships mostly unpainted?

The 8th 071 was launched today/yesterday (depending on timezone).

It is painted, the topside decks are not.
And yes, it is normal to not paint the entire ship when launching it; painting the whole thing is typically one of the last parts of the job after fully fitting it out

The satellite image is not up to date. The 071 just launched several days ago, painted

But my feeling tells me that "those modules seem to have a lot more volume than what you'd expect for merely completing the rest of the single 075" and by a rough measurement they seem to be wider than the 075.

Lol and to cross post what I wrote there and on twitter...

"Larger width = artefact, slightly offset, or modules not fully assembled. I.e.: I expect them to be equal in width once finished. But there are certainly more hull modules in the staging area around the drydock than would be expected for completing only the one 075 we see."
