clearly the LHD design has been a success we have seen within a very very short period of time all the angles and combinations of load we expected to see
unlike the Type 071 LPD, seems like we have been waiting since end of the Qing dynasties

Japa's top defense official has confirmed plans to place an additional "500 to 600" missile defense personnel on one of its westernmost islands in the Pacific, in a move that will boost allied capabilities to counter 's area denial tactics within the first island chain.
Nobuo Kishi told reporters on Tuesday that the government was hoping to deploy anti-aircraft and anti-ship missile units to Ishigaki, which is part of Okinawa Prefecture and lies toward the end of the Nansei island chain—just 185 miles from and even closer to the disputed .
Kishi said a timeline for the deployment had not been finalized, but the defense ministry is reportedly aiming for the end of 2022, reports Tokyo's Yomiuri Shimbun. The official said the feasibility of stationing additional electronic warfare units in Japan's westernmost inhabited island of was also being studied as part of the 2023 defense budget.

You mean liberating! Japan is made up of only 4 islands, but they been occuping and oppressions the Ryukyu population even after losing WW2.

Yup I feel bad for the Okinawan They were loyal Chinese vassal since 5th century one of the earliest people who pledge loyalty to the Chinese empire. Yet in the 17th century they were forsaken and abandoned by the Ming because Ming was broke and occupied with defense of northern border. And after the Imjin war there is no appetite for war . Even after king of Ryu Kyu send delegation after delegation asking for help. Okinawa has close connection to Fujian province since most of the trade with Okinawa was regulated from Foochow. Many of Okinawan are descendant from Fujian people. their custom and habit is very similar to people from Fujian. There this village where they lived and most of RyuKyu official and scholar come from this village. Even after Japan invasion the okinawas still pledge loyalty to Ming and as late as Qing. They still enacted the coming of Chinese envoy to the island as folk festival until today.

and need to develop tactic and SOP. It really take a long time to built blue water navy. Sometime I get impatient

These exercises were held to explore new operational methods, as the combat-ready Liaoning aimed to enhance operational efficiency, and the newly commissioned Shandong and the Hainan made strides to reach operational capabilities, analysts said.
Also dubbed as a helicopter carrier, the PLA Navy's first amphibious assault ship Hainan recently conducted exercises in undisclosed waters, China Central Television (CCTV) reported on Friday.
In the exercises, the Hainan not only conducted integration training with Type 726 air-cushioned landing craft, Type 05 amphibious armored vehicles and Z-8 helicopters, but also sailed together with a Type 901 comprehensive replenishment ship, the CCTV report showed.
This was the first time the Hainan completed a maritime replenishment drill that was revealed to the general public since its commissioning on April 23, observers said.
