Ok. Not technically within a calender year. But within 18 months is still impressive I would think.

As a project manager, I would schedule the launch date after the Chinese New Year. Then, if things don't go well, I would have the holidays as a buffer if necessary.
I heard they are closer to 30-35k metric tons, not sure if anyone knows what their actual full displacement is?
They have a design team which has enough experience to mitigate risks. It is as simple as that.
Just think about how many new destroyer designs China made in the past decade and add to that the experience with the large amphibious warfare ship production.
The first image of keel laying for the #1 is in March 2019. That's barely a 7 months for each ship.

Based on my personal experience, Chinese work style tend to trying finish all the jobs before long holiday. And started new ones after new year

type 075 has a full-load displacement at around 41,000 metric tons, on the same level as the Wasp class but slightly smaller than the America's class. "40k ton level amphibious ship on the same level as USN's Wasp class" is the original line from China's official News.

We already assumed that there is a 052DL in the South China Seas undergoing advanced trials with the 2nd Destroyer Division, and that would be the future 162 Nanning.
But a persistent sighting of a 052DL with the 9th Destroyer Division at Hainan could mean a future 17X number, and next would be 176. A 17X numbered 052DL isn't in the anticipated table for watchers, and the 9th is anticipated to get only 055.
How many 052DL are currently in the South China Seas?
Is there a separate 052DL each with the 2nd and the 9th?
