Target drones being launched from 987 "Wuzhishan" Type 071 amphibious dock landing ship. In the background should be 965 "Chaganhu" Type 901 fast combat support ship, and 175 "Yingchuan" Type 052D destroyer. The propane and oxygen cylinders were used for turbojet engine start-up on the drones. Immediately after the launch, the drone rolled to the left.

987 "Wuzhishan" firing its CIWS (probably at a target drone that it just launched):

LCAC 3322 from the dock of 987 "Wuzhishan":

LCAC 3332 and LCAC 3330 (987 "Wuzhishan" carried three LCACs corresponding to the previous video):

Boats coming out of the dock of a Type 071 LPD, with Z-10 and Mi-171 helicopters flying over:

It is a joint exercise with the PLA Army as the helicopters are attached to the PLA 72nd Group Army:

Is there any information on the capacity and purpose of the jib crane just behind the helicopter hangar door? That job crane looks like it could easily be in the 50 or even 100 ton class. It seems to be far more powerful than would be needed to handle any plausible helicopter. It could probably be used to lift any armored fighting vehicles into a vehicle deck. But there seems to be no access hatch on the starboard side of the ship within the reach of the crane for that possibility to work. It is implausible any AFV could be lifted onto the flight deck and then struck below from there.

so what is such a powerful crane doing there?

so what is it for?

There's a trap on the flight deck that can be detached and used to move vehicles between the Well deck and flight decks. The crane is used to pull them up and down. Sometime when the ship is docked you'll see it deployed, probably to facilitate ship to pier and vice-versa. I've seen pictures of containers and packages and vehicles on flight decks of Type 071s, probably all moved with those cranes.

For the load capacity, on the photo it's a ZSL-10 or ZBL-08 so we're in the 15-20 tons range.

Is there any room to install UVLS so they can launch cruise missile like latest San Antonio Class? Also why don't they install HQ-10 and Type 1130 like in the Carriers and LHDs

Honestly, are you serious? The next question you will ask is: "Can this ship be used for a landing on Mars? Or is it?
