Of course, it makes no sense for China to do so. The point was merely to illustrate that China has the capacity and capability.
Just as a remark, it's an interesting indicator of China's own estimation of both its current capabilities, needs, and international political landscape.

Because Liaoning class can indeed be produced right now at the necessary tempo - it's already a known quantity, it works, and they're already "producing" necessary personnel on the first two carriers.
Yes, they are in no way supercarriers - but they're carriers nevertheless.

003 has a long way to go ahead of it right now - and it's clearly viewed as acceptable.

003 does not take a long way to go ahead of it right now, not as long as what has taken Liaoning to get to the operational stage of now. To be sure, they need to learn the deck operations of a catapult carrier, but it is still an incremental change. Liaoning is strictly from 0 to 1 and bootstrapping. They had to learn/develop everything from scratch with no one to rely on; these include recruiting and training of new pilots, the facility, the training methodology, and everything off the ship as well as everything associated with operating a carrier and coordinating with escort ships.

With 2 known carrier yards? Technically it's probably perfectly achievable, (i.e. starting producing them really fast).
Granted, right now PLAN isn't exactly in a position to start accepting and ordering them faster than they're doing it right now, but for different reasons.

If there is anything we haven't actually seen yet - it's the mass-production of SSNs.

They can mass produce SSNs. They are not completely happy with their designs to throw that much money at it at the moment. But when they are, these will come out like sausages.

Chinese call mass production..'like dumplings [ in water][gouzi]', not sausages as in the West. When you eat dumplings you throw a few in at the smae time! Dumpings float when ready [cooked]. Ships launched when ready.

1950-1989 means a fourty years period.

For comparison, China had speeded up their building of navy surface combatant ships significantly since 2005. It had built 3(take Liaoning for one, or, one vessel in 6 years and at least 2 shipyards capable of that) carrier in 18 years(2005-2023), 8 cruisers in 9 years(055s, 2015-2023), 29 destroyers in 11 years(4 052Cs and 25 052Ds, 2005-2022), 3 LHD in 6 years(075s, 2018-2023), 104 frigates in 18 years(054As and 056/056As, 2005-2022).

So I think it's VERY possible for PLAN to catch up with the USN's building records during 1950-1989 in most surface combatant ships during 2005-2044 (except the carrier vessels, they are really too expensive and difficult to build, I don't think it possible for China to build another 12 vessels by 2044).
well we actually have table comparing Chinese navy build up vs US inventory from 2005 onward courtesy of Congressional report on China naval modernization Here it is starting from page 8,9,10. I just happen to read the latest congressional report

They don't need the perfect design. Just crank out more to achieve the shock effect.
