Oh dear

just as expected

totally spoilt, a billion warship carrying a Russian low tech helicopter

what exactly is wrong with Chinese when it comes to naval helicopter they are so important

you can lose a warship if you don’t have the right helo

and the copy hawk isn’t exactly cutting edge either

LPD without LCAC again ?

It is likely that they are just hiding the goodies for now.

Kamov is still a very good chopper.

Ka-28 stands at 5.5m tall, looks like it is too tall for the hangar, while Z9 is 4.01m.

The intended future naval helicopter would be Z20 naval variants, which should fit in the hangar.

055 isn't intended to carry that Kamov. Nothing stopping it from landing on the deck though. The actual helicopter is a Harbin Z-9 and possibly Z-20 in future when Z-20 gets fitted for anti-sub role.

Here we go again.

Have I not explained the situation China is at clearly enough last time under the LCAC topic? Or you are just like one of those people who can only follow own logic.

Again, by your logic China should have its own naval helicopters ready and all in service before building the ships, right? Good, that’s your logic. Once you are the British defence secretary, it’s your right to you this logic on all future British military hardware developments.

But, why can’t you respect the fact other countries have different logic in terms of at what stage they should give the priority to develop what weapon systems? As I explained last time, and I’m going to explain this to you one last time. China is a developing country who has to compromise hugely during its social/economical/political developments in order to “catch up” quickly. So far we can see its strategy works if not perfectly, but still better than any other countries in the human history. Not too bad, right?! Its military development is no different! The mentality sometimes can be very simple: has something for now as we can is better than wait and has nothing at all.

Seriously, I thought if anyone would understand this, someone lives in a country which has two commissioned 60k+ ton CVs without any planes should know the logic...

Btw, you want to talk about what wrong with China when it comes to naval helicopter? Please, self-learn some recent Chinese history before complaining. On this planet, there are only two counties can 100% independently develop naval helicopters. And out of the two, only one I guess is what you call advanced one which is the US. All other countries relies on the US to either purchase, co-develop or purchase certain key components to complete its so called indigenous design. Tell me, would China be able to do this with the US for the past 30 years? NO! So China has to self learn and develop all by itself from nothing. That’s what’s wrong! And that’s what I would call what’s right!

And what about the naval Z20 of which you somehow simply summarised as copy hawk? Were you in its design team? Have you contributed in its development? Have you had an internal secret interview of its designer? Do you have all its data? If the answers are “no”, how did get the conclusion of “copy hawk isn’t exactly cutting edge”?

How old are you? What’s wrong with you?

Nevermind Asif. If you look at his posts in the past, they were almost always extreme positive or negative. Extreme optimism or extreme pessimism. He has very little patience and seems to need to make conclusions instantly. Very emotionally invested in everything Pakistani and Chinese. Unrealistic when he talks about how good something is and unfairly dismissive like the Blackhawk example. He sees the outward copying of the shape and concludes all subsystems are 1:1 or inferior to the blackhawk from the 70s, designed for totally different purposes.

He just wants/expects China to be better. It's more like harsh constructive criticism as opposed to pure Indian trolling behaviour. Relatively harmless. There are plenty of Chinese who are like this and it's a good thing I guess. But it can get misinterpreted. Maybe the Chinese ones are not as vocal or brash.

This photo shows a Z8 with its tail folded onboard a type 071, it is very much shorter than a Ka-28. So a Type 055 should have no problem with any navy Z8/Z18F currently in service on CV 16 Liaoning.

Thus type 055 has no lack of choice of ASW helicopters, whether the helicopters are to be kept in hangar, or the flight deck.

Ka-28 sighted on Type 055 is part of type 055's familiarization training in with various type of helicopters with Z8, Z9, Ka-28/32, Z18, and Z20 in very near future.
