no, none of them are fully accurate.

the crease of the ship is lower than the main deck. the hull kind of resembles the geometry of the Italian FREMM class extended, based on what we can see of 055 so far

? No... my rhetorical question was to say that the presence of a roof or lack of roof is not important.
Actually, why I think they have build a roof over the hull is to give some form of protection from the coming winter and not delay the build schedule because of weather, since there might be a second hull coming. Winter in Dalian after all is extreme.

I am begining to think Blitzo is right, that this thing will certainly be in the 12000 tonne and above weight class. Look at the size of the bow in comparison to the two 052D which is closer to the camera,I for one will be very disappointed if it carries only 96 to 112 VLS tubes as reported.

I would not be at all surprised if 055 displaces 12,0000+ tons and only has 96 VLS. The 055 VLS is larger than the Mk. 41 VLS on the Arleigh Burke class, and AB Flight III is up around 10,000 tons and we know that ship is considered too small with no potential for future growth, compromised AMDR, and who knows what else.

055 as an enlarged but (in its initial form) technologically conservative evolution from 052D, with robust future growth potential, is undoubtedly partly informed by PLAN's desire to avoid the various pitfalls that USN has encountered in the 21st century, most obviously the Zumwalt -> Flight III -> Future Surface Combatant saga.
