Six turbo-generators on the 055, presumably QD50 (might be excessive??) are powering sensors, EW and communications on the 055.

Where are these generators located? In the mast?

Presumably, in an IEP setup these could also be used for locomotion? How much power could it contribute for propulsion? Thanks.

No not mast, not even close. Should be deep below amidships. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it should be behind the main funnel ahead of the VLS amidships. Use below pic as reference.

Some new pics. This looks to be a YJ-18 being loaded amidships of the 055. Added pic of the same canister being loaded on 052D for comparison.

For correction, last picture is a YJ-83 canister, probably for a Type 054A not in the frame.

Based on CCTV video snapshots, there are 2 sets of 3 power generators. One set is behind the rear VLS. There is an auxiliary funnel at the back of the rear mast.
