I've been wondering if any one of those ample water ejection points functions as (auxillary/generator) wet engine exhaust. Looking back at the photos of 101, I've found a potential candidate, on the same longitudinal position port and starboard, just forward of the bridge:

Another unit recently photographed at a shipyard displayed a similar looking blemish at the same spot:

What are your thoughts? Any other possible candidate from among those water ejection points? Or do you think all engines use dry stack exhausts instead?

Most interesting observation but you may need to rule out first if the dark smudges are caused by tire marks from the tugboats.

So at this moment in time, we got three 055 in the South China Seas, 101, 102 and 105, with 102 and 105 the permanent residents and 101 the visitor. Need to know where 106 went to.

102 belongs to the North Sea Fleet. 106 Yan'an will go to South Sea Fleet. In fact, 106 is likely either en route or around SCS for sea trial now according to earlier report.

Are you sure 102 is NSF? Last picture I saw of it, the ship was degaussing in the degaussing dock at the Hainan sub base.

Apparently according to Chinese Wiki..........102 is attached to the Northern Fleet. Destroyer detachment 1.
