What kind of useless statement is this?

China's 055 isn't some mystery vehicle. Plenty of people know it exists. Us Chinese are the most avid PLA watchers on the planet! Where do all the photos on this site come from huh?

And what retard in Hainan would think the ships they see off the beach are American destroyers? Do they just willfully ignore that there's a giant PLAN base right next door?

Jesus.

well I am not Chinese I do not know what the average Chinese knows about their respective military

but by the sounds of it maybe they are more informed ?

does average Chinese citizen know about the Chinese warships like Type 055?

bet they thought it was a American Arleigh Burke
Any one with a passing interest in PLA would know of 055, it's quite famous in China and the citizens are proud of it. It is after all arguably the most advanced surface combatant on the planet at this time. (Zumwalt is... well you know)

Besides its common name 大驱(big destroyer) 055 even has a Chinese nickname: 小火车, or little locomotive. Because "5" in Chinese is pronounced "wu", so two fives together is "wuwu" which sounds like a steam locomotive's whistle.

well, define what average is. All my Chinese friends knows about 055, but I don't know all 1.4B Chinese ppl in China

055 is much more beautiful than AB, no doubt, so you can't go wrong that is 055, well for people who reasonably well informed and have interest in Navy matter.

If you ask Chinese people in night market or wet market selling that stuffs, perhaps there is a good chance they have no clues

Should be 105 Dalian as in having a ship named Dalian. The Jiangnan ships are 101 to 104 and Dalian ships are 105 to 108. Also weird is that the Dalian ships are the ones that have the funnel.

105舰,烟囱加帽是大连建造。所以不按下水顺序而是按计划给舷号,江南101-104,大连105-108
Translated from Chinese by Google
On the 105 ship, the chimney cap was built by Dalian. So instead of following the order of the water, the ship numbers are assigned as planned, Jiangnan 101-104, Dalian 105-108

Folks on social media seem to say that these are "the first clear shots showing #105 at sea" but when did the ship actually start initial sea trials ?

Recently (in December) or several months ago ?
