Type 053 and Type 054

hey does anyone got any more detailed info about the 053 and 054 project? i think at least one of each has already entered water. just curious.

Type 054 Ma'anshan FFG is discussed in another thread in the forum, look there for that one.

fourteen type 53s have been completed, there were plans for an improved type 53, but were slated in favor of the type 54. the pla has finished its two basic type 54's, and has just commiusioned one. in the future, the plan is expected to construct at least two more advanced type 54s.

054 is considered to be more stealthy than 053 and offers slightly better systems in general I guess. Supposedly, its ASW is pretty advanced for a chinese ship.
