As a result of pursuing the place I was interested in while respecting the place where Mr. Kayo's eyes were concerned with 052D before, as a result of coming along with other things, the last Chinese aircraft carrier story Memorandum along with electrical equipment related. It was a laser warning device.

Some surprises here. I always thought the two Type 726 units on top were ECM not ESM, but the Chinese labeling of them from pictures on the Type 075 are labeling them as ESM. Note labels here are in Japanese. Omni means Omni directional antenna and DF means Directional Finding. But I always thought the unit right there near the Type 366 to be ESM --- the antenna is now a new design but the old one reminds me of the DWL002 passive radar unit, which in turn hark back to the Tamara "Trash Can" and Vera systems.

Laser device is located near the OFC-3.

DDG-131“太原”とかBatch3の件もあったので、052D型の修正など。 ↓から順にBatch1,2,3の並び。ちなみに“太原”は真ん中のBatch2。

DDG-131 “Tahara” and Batch3 were also mentioned, so the 052D type was modified. ↓ Batch1,2,3 in order. By the way, “Tahara” is Batch2 in the middle.

DDG 131 Taiyuan belongs to the intermediate batch between the first and the extended version. This is the first time a ship of this batch ever visited another country.

Whats the difference between batch 2 and 3 in these drawings? I'm sure it's obvious, but I can't see it.

From what is clearly visible, Radar and the CIWS. The earliest 052D have Type-730 and the AESA has tube below is, like a windscreen wiper. The "batch 2" radar no longer has the "wiper" and CIWS is upgraded to Type-1130.

Edit - There may be several other changes that are not clearly visible.

First batch --- The base 052D you all know about.

Second batch --- The Type 730 is changed to 1130. Less visual changes includes changes in the ESM which you can see near the base of the tower next to the Type 366 Bandstand radar. I don't know much about how the previous ones or the new ones work, only that there is a physical change in the antenna that says the unit has been changed. This new unit is being retrofitted on 052C.

The 346A radar, which has a far field calibration probe, has removed that probe, which means it now relies on an internal surface based calibration method that's on the panel itself. This might be bigger than perceived, because recalibration is used after modules in the panel are replaced in sea. The previous method of using an extended probe may not have been the best for this.

Third batch --- Like the second batch, but has an extended hanger deck. The Type 517M is changed to a new 8 element VHF array. I also noticed that the satcoms now have new positions.

I think there is one particular ship, forgot the number, Jiangnan built but it still has the 730 but with the revised array. Dalian only built one of the originals, the next two are of the second batch, the rest are the third batch.

If you look again at the picture, the first ship on top is third batch ship, first batch ship is at the bottom, then the obvious difference surfaced.

Yes I saw the difference between top drawing and the bottom, my problem was trying to spot the difference between the middle and bottom. So difference in CIWS and the APAR Panels, was hard to spot in the drawings from a quick glance.
