Time to buy some technology/resource companies

now the stocks are taking a beating all over the world. Now it's a good opportunity to buy up some technolgogies and resources companies.
All those listed below are either component maker or equipment maker. The US government should have no excuse like before 3COM case where they concern the security code in the network equipments.



lattice semiconductor FPGA & CPLD market cap $200mil
Triquint semiconductor wireless & RF market cap $560 mil
LTX -credence Test equipment market cap $56mil
cypress semicondcutor logic & image sensor market cap $500mil
lecroy measure instrument market cap $76mil


so spending just $3 billion will acquire all the above. and will enable CHina to have soem techology that can compete in the international market when the market recover.

pls, all their technologies will be transferred to CHina for absorption and further improvement.

US government needs no excuse to stop anything. If needed, some reason will be created. Sovereignty is sovereignty. Geopolitics do not operate on the basis of reasonableness. It is precisely for the reasons stated in your post that the US won't let anything of this sort happen.

how do you explain it constantly harping on others because of democracy. is that geoplitics also? No real value for others also?

Is no reasonable causes offered by such big country, then its reputation and credibility are shot.

Of course it is geopolitics. The harping on democracy etc is just propaganda to destabilize and demonize the target country. Geopolitics is without morals, there is no right or wrong, only power. Reputation and credibility are handled by control over media and foreign aid. Countries make tough decisions despite opposing international opinion, not because of it. We see this time and again in international politics. A great power will make a decision which seems not very nice, and then let its propaganda department try to reduce the negative effect as much as possible. The only motivation in geopolitics is national interest, since it is the role of a government to act in the interests of its people. It is not accountable to anyone outside its boarders. Trying to reason with a nation does not work, you have to strong-arm it or give it incentives to act contrary to its self-interest.

Micron just bought Qimonda, former Infineon Memory division (Germany) for $500million. That's a good deal, the valuation of that company was lamost 1.4billion a year ago, now has to sell it at half of a billion.
Micron will take control Qimonda's 12 inch fab.

China is setting a Jetting a JV with Elpida to have 45nm fab for memory at suzhou for 5 billion dollars in 2010.


Man, China should outbid Micron for Qimonda. What they waiting for??
A technology company is on sale from Germany !!

Man, If China acquired Qimonda, and with its unlimited deep pocket, it can challenge Samsung for the top spot as the number memory supplier in a few years!!
