Special mission An-24/Y-7 or testbed ?

Any idea what's this ??? ... seems to be some kind of radar-panel line a large SLAR was added on the sides ... or as if the ballance beam was packed under the wings.

From the info I got via the CDF it was withdrawn from use in 1989 at Nanjing and is now (?) at the Datangshan/Xiaotangshan museum.

Any help would be fine.

well, those panels don't look like dielectric panels and the position is blocked by the engines. I'd guess enlarged fuel tanks.

Reconnaissance or refueling plane for the Liaoning J-15s or a maritime patrol craft for sub hunting perhaps?

not flying anywhere like that.

This site says this is an original An-24. so was it one of the sample/prototype provided to China?
