So it's been about 2 years since pop3 said that construction of 076 was "starting soon". Given that we've seen, well, nothing to indicate its construction yet, is it safe to say that the project has met some difficulties or has been delayed? I initially thought it might be due to a switch from steam to EMALS, but then I remembered that "DCTS" (电磁弹射) was a requirement from the get-go. Covid, perhaps?

Covid probably.
Although I would say it would be kinda concerning if we don't see modules in the dock sometime next year? Or the year after at the latest.
Edit: First 'big' visual confirmation probably isn't gonna happen until like we see work in the drydock, but at that stage, it would be within a year of being launched (might even just be half a year), since a lot of work would be done before that.

In any case, we will find out sooner or later. My guess (non educated) is that he was right, but when he talked about the project, it was at an early stage. Couple that with possible hiccups on development and/or Covid, and it might be some time before we see this in the flesh.
