Type 076 LHD/LHA discussion

First time I look at that 076 designation. Any idea on what it is about? A bigger 075, a straight LHA perhaps?
Moreover, a synthesis of sources and rumors would have 004 coming out of Dalian. Is that the current state of information we have?

Anyone can translate?

054A接着造两位数,054B首舰建造会同步进行。
052系列和055继续并行建造。
071坞登和075两攻上批量,076即将建造。
003看来是受新冠疫情影响,但目前进度顺利。
004即将开工,“具有里程碑意义”。

Lol looks like the guy that pop3 replied to was referencing my diplomat article.

The Google machine translation:

054A then builds double digits, and the construction of the first ship 054B will proceed simultaneously. The 052 series and 055 continue to be built in parallel. 071 Wudeng and 075 attacked the batch, and 076 is about to be built. 003 appears to be affected by the new crown epidemic, but progress is currently going well. 004 is about to start construction, "landmark". And for the 076 he mentioned, there's something interesting for 施佬, looks like these are from a group chat he's in:

He says 076 solves the problem that China doesn't have F35B with a unique solution, and "you will understand once you see it".

So I guess no matter how they achieve that, what we do know is that PLAN does value LHD/LHA that could transform into carriers when needed... And we won't see a STOVL jet from them anytime soon.

If it does fit into PLAMC doctrine(assumption based on class called 07x),
It could be an arsenal ship, projecting long range fires, to counter and thwart USN/MC amphib forces.
just saying...

POP3's original words says " 054B is close to start", I don't know why the tweet rephrase that to "054B will be built simultaneously".

I understand why this could be the case, maybe they want more operational ready frigates quickly as the 054B might need more time testing after been built.

I just want to clarify for anyone that can't speak Chinese that POP3 didn't say "simultaneously", at least not in this quote.

maybe they install a fan into the runway near at take off point to push the plane upwards.

It's described as "you will understand once you see it".
If we assume that it's not a half-measure like VLS for "strike + air defense, and if we are all in agreement that it's not a STOVL aircraft, then I can only assume it to be some kind of fixed wing conventional take off aircraft.
For a large LHD, the space available would likely be appropriate for large UCAVs.

For a large LHD, it wouldn't be impossible to install a single EM catapult and landing gear in a workable fashion...

So you mean like a carrier-lite with catapult/s instead of an LHA with STOVL plane? Sounds interesting. Who knows, maybe we'll get some AWACS UCAV with GJ-11-like UCAV adapted to cat and traps if your interpretation of this 076 is really a thing.

Why not STOBAR j-31/35? Seems like the logical compliment for the J-15 on the STOBAR carriers too.
