In your opinion which would be the "Best" Div or Brig sized unit in the PRC. The Marine units, Airborne, or even units of the special police. I would like to keep this post to those of larger size units of action. NOT the smaller Special Forces groups.

Well, the 38th Div is supposedly the cream of PLA. They get the latest equipment and training. So I place my bet on that. The airborne units primarily use parachutes when coming to large scale operations, so I didn't choose airbone. Marines are great, but I suppose the 38th gets better stuff from the army budget.

Its the 38th group army, not division. its made up of:

112th, 113th, 114th mechanized infantry division
(Type 92/A, Type 89, Type 86A)
6th armoured division(with all the type 98 and type 98G and Type 96)
6th artillery brigade(PLZ-45)
a mechanized air-defense brigade(type 95 SPAAG)
a Helicopter regiment(WZ-9/Mi-17)
a special forces regiment

See the thing is the PLA is in the process of modernizing and downsizing, but the best units which are the 38th and 39th group army are still large and unflexible. They are reinforced units and among the few units that have its own air support, modern C3I, modern air-defense. Smaller Brigade and Division size units, with the exception of the 15th Airborne Corp and the 2 Marine Brigades are not independent units and rely on other units for firesupport and logistics.
