Your original assertion was that "VTOL assets can not operate land attacks without AEW assets". That is a binary question and your position was no. I have demonstrated with facts that the AV-88 clearly can conduct land attacks and have done so on numerous occasions. Whether a LHA can perform like a CVG in its full function has no relationship to your original assertion.
Apparently you didn't read the full article and have the bad habit of mixing people's words together in order to prove a point. What you have claim was V-88 does land mission, okay, so did they did that ALL by themselves without AEW assets? That conveys in my mind that the AV-88 can do land attack missions without AEW assets. Now as with China's LHD if they are doing land attacks it too will be traveling with the CVG because the carriers carries the AEW assets. LHD are mainly for marine expeditionary forces operating AFTER air superiority has been established. AND THAN you bring out your AV-88 types to come out and play. They are to provide combat support to the expeditionary forces.
