The bridge of the right one is definitely higher than the left one, also the radarmast is higher.
Indeed. And the taller one is 056A. Pls refer to below. Carefully compare their deck position and you can see the difference easily. Sanmenxia, pennant number 593 is the first 056A, while 582 Bangbu the first 056. This photo actually been spread around.
-- The sunshade in the back of 593 looks cute, to me. ;)

Interesting! But the bridge still looks the same to me in the earlier photo, only the mast looks taller after looking it again?

There are also changes in the small deckhouse that the Type 344 radar sits upon. I didn't notice the physical changes between the two versions and just assumed its only with the door at the back for the TAS and the VDS.

The deckhouse on the Right hand vessel is definitely different.. lower and seemingly with more of a slope to the forward face. There is also a door through to (presumably) a maintenance space.

Also no ssm/ashm launchers forward of the funnel. (Though I Concede I'm a bit out of touch and maybe these are no longer fitted?)

Here is the translation It is only yesterday when they unveil the type 56 by giving the model to Hongkong university professor. Now we are at 60th copy amazing well done China. The combat system of this warship is network with other ships and HQ it will act as a screen against Submarine No wonder so many will built . In conjunction with KQ200, underwater sensor, New Low Freq surveillance ship and data fusion This is the first credible Anti submarine system. I think they should be the follow on model bigger with anti sub Heli. Or add organic UAH to type 56 to increase surveillance and anti sub reach

7 years is the time it takes for a child to reach the age of reason and open up more to others. In the case of China, 60 new generation Class 056 corvettes, as well as 20 Type 052D 6,000 tonne destroyers, have been constructed and floated over the same period since 2012 by Chinese shipyards.

This is the Huangpu shipyard CSSC Group, located near Guangzhou in southern China, which launched the 60 th class corvette May 9 in the afternoon. A day later, in the north of the country Dalian shipyard made a double launch with the 19 th and 20 th destroyer Type 052D, in the image of what they have already done the year last, in the month of July, where two large Type 055 destroyers of more than 12,000 tons full load were launched in the same day.

On average, there is a Type 056 launched every 6 weeks, and a Type 052D 18 weeks apart, ie 1 month and a half for the first and 4 and a half months for the second.

Type 056, corvette designed for Chinese coasts and EEZs
If the launch of the Type 056 can still be closely watched by the many Chinese spotteurs, who "patrol" regularly before the various Chinese shipyards in Guangzhou, Shanghai and Dalian for example, the situation of their entry into service seems much more blurred since in June 2018, after 557 Nanchong , 42 th class, was called to active duty.

Indeed, the Chinese media, starting with those of the Chinese state and also of the army, seem to have stopped broadcasting this kind of information to the public since 2018 for reasons that are unknown. But of the 60 corvettes already in the water, including the one launched by Huangpu last Thursday, at least 6 ships are expected to join the Chinese navy fleets between July 2018 and early May 2019 according to our estimates based on statistics.

Be that as it may, this 60 th Type 056 corvette is a variant specialized in anti-submarine warfare, called Type 056A, which is easily distinguishable thanks to its large opening at the stern for the towed sonar.

The building, 88.9 meters long and 11.14 meters high, displaces 1,370 tons full load. Its CODAD propulsion system allows the ship to sail beyond 25 knots, with an economic autonomy of 2,000 nautical miles and a crew of 67 sailors.

On the combat systems side, the ship is equipped with a ASW combat and communication suite, ASROC missiles, anti-submarine grenades, light torpedoes and a towed sonar, as well as a main gun. 76mm H / PJ-26, two CIWS to H / PJ-17 30mm guns and one CIWS to eight-tube HQ-10 missiles.

This class of corvette designed for the protection of China's coasts and exclusive economic zones, despite its relatively small size, is the first to equip the modified version of the ZKJ-5 combat and command system, which can be integrated with other command systems. of the Chinese Navy, allowing it to become one of the information and combat unit nodes in the "System".

The acquisition cost of a Corvette Type 056A is more than 700 million yuan, or 91 million euro at today's exchange rate, slightly more expensive than the basic version Type 056.

Note that this 60 th Type 056, whose name and hull number are not yet revealed, is the 17 thclass built in Huangpu Shipyard. It is also the 6 th launched in 2019 all shipyards combined.

We also note that apart from the year 2017 whose launch was relatively poor, with only 3 on the clock, the rate remains constant over the other years.
